LICAB Executive Director Joe Salamone introduced the Inaugural cohort of Connetquot High School DASA Ambassadors today. LICAB has been training these 24 student ambassadors from Connetquot High School, chosen for their leadership skills, to combat bullying.
The training covers understanding bullying’s forms, causes, and the difference between conflict and bullying. Students learn to support peers with empathy and listening. Later, the focus will be on leadership’s role in anti-bullying and using language to reduce stigma and promote dialogue and solutions. The Ambassadors will then make classroom visits to elementary buildings within the district to conduct mini-lessons on kindness and respect.
